Founding

Stone Art, LLC was formed in 2006 by Oliver Wright and is based in Bethesda, MD. While the company was founded thirteen years ago, stonework has been in Oliver's blood for a lifetime. He grew up building a summer house with a stone foundation and chimney and has continued to refine his stonemasonry skills throughout his life. Today Oliver owns and runs a company whose primary goal is to make beautiful and long-lasting stonescaping. Oliver believes the beauty of stone work comes from the natural placement of the stone alongside the finely tuned finish and detail of the joints. The best work looks timeless and is surrounded by an equally established garden. The stonework and garden are inextricably linked in their beauty. 

Mission

Stone Art, LLC is dedicated to providing excellence in designing, installing and maintaining beautiful and durable stone work. We specialize in stone and paver walkways, driveways, porches, patios, fireplaces and walls, using only the highest quality materials. We have a satisfaction guarantee, and a 3 year warranty on workmanship and materials. Stone Art, LLC is licensed in Maryland (MHIC#95262) and is fully insured. 

Environmental Protection

We are concerned about the environment.  When possible we encourage our clients to create permeable surfaces by laying flagstone or pavers in a base of crushed stone.  We also encourage our clients to install dry wells or trenches to collect water.  Both of these techniques reduce run-off and are good for the environment.  When possible, we donate leftover or discarded materials for re-use. Two organizations that accept such materials are the Loading Dock and Habitat for Humanity.  These and other organizations re-use materials in other building projects.
